The WEILER 08314 is a knotted stainless steel wheel brush designed for aggressive surface preparation, weld cleaning, and deburring on metal workpieces. Mounted via an arbor hole, it installs on bench grinders, pedestal grinders, die grinders, right angle die grinders, and straight grinders. The knotted wire configuration uses a standard twist knot for increased wire tension and cutting aggressiveness compared to crimped fill. Rated to 20,000 RPM, the brush handles demanding applications where fast material removal or surface finishing is required. Wire diameter falls in the 0.0200 to 0.0299 inch range, balancing aggressiveness with surface finish quality. Fabricators, welders, pipefitters, and metalworkers are the primary users of this tool.
The 08314 suits shop and field applications involving weld spatter removal, rust and scale stripping, and surface conditioning on ferrous and stainless steel workpieces. Its stainless steel fill prevents contamination on stainless or high-alloy base metals where carbon steel wire transfer would cause corrosion problems. The arbor hole mount makes it compatible with fixed bench and pedestal grinder setups as well as handheld angle and die grinders. The 7/8 inch trim length provides controlled wire flex for consistent contact across irregular surfaces.
Designed for use with bench grinders, pedestal grinders, die grinders, right angle die grinders, and straight grinders equipped with an arbor hole mount. No shank is included.
Installation is performed by qualified tradespeople familiar with abrasive and wire brush tooling. Always confirm the grinder spindle speed does not exceed the 20,000 RPM maximum rating of the brush before mounting. Disconnect and lock out power to the grinder before mounting or removing the brush. Wear appropriate eye and face protection, gloves, and hearing protection during operation per ANSI and tool manufacturer guidelines.
