The WD-40 49009 is an 18 oz aerosol lubricant formulated with a mineral oil and aliphatic hydrocarbon base. It delivers lubrication, rust and corrosion protection, and adhesive removal in a single product. The formula operates across a wide temperature range, from -60 degrees F to 300 degrees F, making it suitable for use in mechanical, HVAC, plumbing, and general trade maintenance applications. It is a flammable product with a flash point of 138 degrees F and carries a light amber color. Technicians and service professionals reach for this can as a fast-acting maintenance tool for freeing seized fasteners, displacing moisture, and protecting metal surfaces.
This lubricant is appropriate for residential and commercial service work where a general-purpose aerosol maintenance product is needed. Typical applications include lubricating hinges, fan shafts, blower wheel hubs, valve stems, and threaded fittings. It is also used to quickly remove adhesive residue, corrosion buildup, and paint from metal components during equipment servicing. The aerosol delivery makes it practical for hard-to-reach areas inside air handlers, mechanical rooms, and equipment cabinets.
Designed as a general-purpose mineral oil-based aerosol lubricant suitable for use on metal components, fasteners, and mechanical assemblies across HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and light industrial maintenance applications. Not food-grade rated and not formulated for extreme-pressure or continuous high-temperature service points.
Apply only in well-ventilated areas away from open flames, pilot lights, and ignition sources — this is a flammable aerosol. Power down electrical equipment and allow components to cool before applying near energized parts, even though the product carries a high dielectric strength rating. SARA Title III and TSCA reporting requirements apply to this product; consult the SDS before use in regulated facilities.
