The WATTS 123476 is a 2-piece, full port, lead free brass ball valve designed for commercial and industrial fluid and gas control. It features a solder (sweat) end connection, a machined chrome-plated lead free brass ball, and a virgin PTFE seat for reliable, low-friction shutoff. The bottom-loaded blowout-proof stem and fluorocarbon elastomer stem O-ring prevent leaks under sustained operating pressure. Rated at 600 psi WOG and 150 psi WSP, this valve is suited for demanding service environments. It ships with a cap and chain, thrust washer, adjustable stem packing gland, stem packing nut, and a steel handle. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters install this valve in commercial plumbing, process piping, and mechanical systems.
This valve is appropriate for residential and commercial applications involving water, oil, and gas service. The full port design minimizes flow restriction, making it well suited for systems where pressure drop and flow capacity are critical. Sweat (solder) end connections allow clean, leak-resistant installation in copper piping systems. The lead free brass construction meets requirements for potable water systems where lead free compliance is mandated.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation full port ball valve for 0.5-inch copper sweat piping systems used in water, oil, and gas service applications.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or pipefitter in accordance with applicable local plumbing codes and IFGC requirements where gas service is involved. Shut off and depressurize the supply line completely before cutting into existing piping or removing an old valve. Use appropriate soldering flux and lead free solder when making sweat connections, and allow all joints to cool fully before restoring pressure. Verify the valve handle orientation and flow direction before returning the system to service.
