The WARWICK HANGER 2112-b is a self-tapping vertical rod anchor designed for wood substrate applications. It accepts 3/8-inch threaded rod and installs directly into wood framing or structural members without a pre-drilled pilot hole, making it a fast, single-step fastener for overhead mechanical, electrical, and plumbing support work. The hex head drive allows installation with a standard hex socket or driver. Each anchor is 2 inches in length, providing adequate embedment depth in dimensional lumber and engineered wood framing. These anchors ship in a quantity of 25 per package, suited for multi-point hanger layouts on a single job.
This anchor is used wherever threaded rod needs to be anchored vertically into wood — typically overhead wood joists, rafters, or beams in residential and light commercial construction. Common applications include hanger rod drops for HVAC ductwork, conduit support, pipe strapping, and equipment support frames. The self-tapping design eliminates the need for a separate lag shield or insert, reducing labor time on repetitive hanger installations. Mechanical, plumbing, and electrical contractors routinely use this style of anchor during rough-in framing phases before ceiling finishes are applied.
Designed for use with 3/8-inch threaded rod in vertical wood substrate applications including dimensional lumber and engineered wood framing members.
Installation is performed by licensed or qualified mechanical, electrical, or plumbing tradespeople following applicable codes including NEC, IPC, and IMC requirements for hanger spacing and support. De-energize and de-pressurize any nearby systems before working overhead in active mechanical spaces. Use a hex socket or impact driver at appropriate speed to avoid stripping the head or over-driving the anchor into the substrate. Do not install into end grain or compromised wood members.
