The WALTER-TITEX 7378524 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill bit engineered for high-performance drilling in ferrous materials. Built to Series DC160-05-A0 standards, it carries a dual AlTiN and TiSiAlCrN coating system that extends tool life and resists heat buildup at elevated cutting speeds. The 140-degree split-point geometry reduces thrust and enables accurate entry without a center punch. At 3.583 inches overall length with a 2.087-inch flute and a 0.315-inch straight-cylindrical shank, this bit is sized for standard drill chucks and collet holders. The 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio gives a maximum drilling depth of 1.693 inches. This tool is specified and installed by machinists and maintenance technicians working in production or field environments.
Designed for drilling cast iron and steel in demanding applications, the 7378524 handles blind holes, cross holes, inclined hole exits, and stack drilling. The right-hand cut geometry and m7 diameter tolerance provide consistent hole quality across production runs. Material grade WJ30ET is selected for toughness and wear resistance in both P and K workpiece material categories. It is equally suited to CNC machining centers and manual drill press setups where a reliable general-purpose carbide bit is required.
Designed for use in cast iron and steel workpieces, covering ISO material groups P and K. Suitable for CNC machining centers, drill presses, and hand-held power drills with compatible chuck capacities. Compatible with Series DC160-05-A0 application requirements including blind hole, cross hole, inclined hole exit, and stack drilling operations.
Installation and use should be performed by qualified machinists or maintenance technicians familiar with cutting tool selection and speeds-and-feeds parameters. Secure the shank fully in the chuck or collet before operation and verify runout before beginning a cut. This bit does not feature coolant-through capability, so external coolant or cutting fluid application is recommended when drilling steel at higher feed rates. Follow applicable ANSI B94 tooling standards for setup and machine guarding requirements.
