The WALTER-TITEX 7377448 is a solid carbide jobber length drill bit engineered for demanding precision drilling in metalworking and industrial machining applications. It measures 4.65 mm in diameter (0.1831 inch) with a 140-degree drill point angle and an overall length of 74 mm (approximately 2.91 inches). The bit carries a dual-layer TiSiAlCrN/AlTiN coating that extends tool life in abrasive and high-temperature cutting conditions. A coolant-through design channels cutting fluid directly to the cutting zone, improving chip evacuation and thermal management. Installed by machinists and tool-and-die professionals, this bit is suited for production environments where consistent hole quality and tool longevity are required.
This drill bit performs across a broad range of workpiece materials including cast iron, non-ferrous metals, steel, superalloys, and titanium. Its 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio and two-flute spiral design support a maximum drilling depth of 29 mm. It handles blind holes, cross holes, inclined hole exits, and stack drilling operations. The straight-cylindrical shank measures 6 mm in diameter and 36 mm in length (approximately 1.42 inches), making it compatible with standard collet chucks and drill holders used in CNC machining centers and conventional drill presses. The bit conforms to ANSI and ISO standards and carries material grade WJ30ET.
Part of the WALTER-TITEX Series DC160 product line. Designed for use in workpiece materials coded K (cast iron), N (non-ferrous), P (steel), and S (superalloys and titanium). Fits standard 6 mm straight-cylindrical collet chucks and tool holders used in CNC and manual drilling equipment.
Installation and tooling changes should be performed by qualified machinists following machine-specific lockout/tagout procedures before handling cutting tools. Ensure the collet or chuck is clean and properly torqued to the holder specification for the machine in use. Coolant-through operation requires a compatible spindle and coolant system; verify pressure and flow settings before running the tool. Inspect the cutting edges for wear or chipping before each use and replace the bit when the coating shows significant breakdown or dimensional drift is observed.
