The WALTER-TITEX 6618843 is a solid carbide extra length drill bit engineered for demanding metal cutting applications. It features an 11.8 mm diameter, a 140-degree split point, and a TiNAl coating that resists heat and extends tool life in high-temperature cutting environments. The bit measures 206 mm (8.11 inches) overall with a 158 mm (6.22 inches) flute length and a 12.00 mm straight-cylindrical shank. Coolant-through capability delivers cutting fluid directly to the tip, making it suitable for deeper holes where chip evacuation and heat buildup are critical concerns. A licensed machinist or toolroom technician is the typical end user for this class of tooling.
This drill bit is designed for use on CNC machining centers and manual machines where extended reach is required. It is rated for blind hole, cross hole, inclined hole exit, and stack drilling operations. Primary workpiece materials include cobalt, iron, nickel, and titanium alloys — material codes H, K, N, and P. Secondary workpiece materials include glass and graphite. The DC150-12-A1 series designation places this bit in a family optimized for high-penetration-rate drilling with minimal deflection across difficult-to-machine alloys. Maximum drilling depth is 140 mm (5.51 inches), and the flute-to-diameter ratio is 12xD.
Suitable for drilling cobalt, iron, nickel, and titanium alloys (material codes H, K, N, P) and secondary materials including glass and graphite (codes M, O). Conforms to ANSI, DIN 6535 HA, and ISO standards. Part of the WALTER-TITEX DC150-12-A1 series.
Installation and use of this tooling should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC programmer familiar with carbide drill operating parameters. Secure the shank fully in a compatible toolholder before operation and verify runout with a dial indicator before cutting. Always confirm that the machine spindle and coolant-through system are properly configured for the required flow rate before engaging the workpiece. Carbide tooling is brittle — avoid side loading or interrupted cuts outside the rated application scope for this series.
