The WALTER-TITEX 6618799 is a solid carbide extra length drill bit designed for demanding precision drilling applications in metalworking and industrial environments. It features a 0.2813-inch cutting diameter, a 140-degree drill point angle, and a TiNAl (titanium aluminum nitride) coating that extends tool life under high heat and abrasion. At 5.827 inches overall length with a 4.331-inch flute length and a 12xD flute-to-diameter ratio, this bit reaches depths that standard-length drills cannot. It is engineered for use by machinists and tooling technicians working on CNC machining centers, drill presses, and multi-axis equipment.
This drill bit is built for production and precision work involving cobalt, iron, nickel, and titanium alloys as primary workpiece materials, as well as glass and graphite as secondary materials. Its straight-cylindrical shank measures 0.315 inches in diameter and 1.417 inches in length, making it compatible with standard collet chucks and drill chucks in that shank range. The bit supports coolant-through delivery, making it well suited for deep-hole operations including blind holes, cross holes, inclined hole exits, and stack drilling. Right-hand cutting direction with a two-flute geometry keeps chip evacuation efficient at depth.
Designed for use in CNC machining centers and drill presses accepting a 0.315-inch straight-cylindrical shank. Rated for blind hole, cross hole, inclined hole exit, and stack drilling applications in cobalt, iron, nickel, and titanium alloy workpieces, as well as glass and graphite. Conforms to ANSI, DIN 6535 HA, and ISO standards. Part of the WALTER-TITEX Series DC150-12-A1.
Installation and tool changes should be performed by a qualified machinist with the machine fully powered down and locked out per applicable safety procedures. Verify that the toolholder collet or chuck matches the 0.315-inch shank diameter before clamping. When using coolant-through capability, confirm that the machine spindle and toolholder support internal coolant delivery before engaging the coolant system. Inspect the cutting edge and coating condition before each use, as carbide tooling is brittle and susceptible to chipping if mishandled or dropped.
