The WALTER-TITEX 6618728 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill with a 13.00 mm diameter and a 140-degree split point, coated with TiNAl (titanium aluminum nitride) for extended tool life in demanding applications. The carbide substrate paired with TiNAl coating provides thermal resistance and wear resistance at elevated cutting speeds. At 182.00 mm overall length with a 133.00 mm flute length and an 8xD flute-to-diameter ratio, this drill is engineered for deep, consistent hole-making in production environments. It belongs to the DC150-08-A1 series and carries a WJ30TA grade designation. Installation is performed by machinists and tooling technicians working in metal-cutting environments.
This drill is designed for drilling into cast iron, non-ferrous metals, steel, and superalloys including titanium. It supports blind hole and stack drilling applications. The straight-cylindrical shank measures 14.00 mm in diameter and 45.00 mm in length, making it compatible with standard drill chucks and hydraulic toolholders. Internal coolant-through capability allows cutting fluid to be delivered directly to the cutting zone, which is critical when drilling deep holes in heat-resistant alloys or maintaining tight tolerances in production runs. Right-hand cutting direction. Diameter tolerance is held to m7.
Designed for use in CNC machining centers and drilling machines accepting a 14.00 mm straight-cylindrical shank. Rated for cast iron (ISO K), non-ferrous metals (ISO N), steel (ISO P), and superalloys and titanium (ISO S) workpiece materials. Conforms to ANSI and ISO standards. Fits within the DC150-08-A1 series range covering drill diameters from 12.50 mm to 15.00 mm (0.5000 to 0.6500 inches decimal).
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or tooling technicians. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and toolholder is clean and free of chips before seating the shank. Verify coolant-through passages are clear and system pressure is appropriate for the toolholder before drilling. Follow machine tool manufacturer guidelines and applicable shop safety protocols when securing the drill in the chuck or collet.
