The WALTER-TITEX 6618311 is a solid carbide jobber length drill bit designed for high-performance drilling in demanding industrial and machining applications. Measuring 0.169 inches in diameter with an overall length of 2.913 inches, this bit features a TiAlN coating that extends tool life when cutting through abrasive or high-temperature materials. The 140-degree drill point angle promotes accurate, self-centering entry and reduces thrust force at the start of the cut. With a whistle notch shank diameter of 0.236 inches, it seats securely in compatible tool holders. Licensed machinists, tool-and-die technicians, and CNC operators are the primary users of this bit.
The 6618311 is built for blind hole drilling and stack drilling operations. Its 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio and 2-flute spiral configuration support efficient chip evacuation across its 0.845-inch flute length. Coolant-through capability makes it well suited for sustained production runs on cast iron, non-ferrous metals, steel, superalloys, and titanium. This bit conforms to ANSI and ISO standards and carries an m7 diameter tolerance, making it appropriate for precision hole applications where bore quality matters.
Designed for use in cast iron, non-ferrous metals, steel, superalloys, and titanium workpieces. Suited for blind hole and stack drilling operations in CNC machining centers and drill presses that accept a 0.236-inch whistle notch shank. Part of the Walter DC150 series.
Installation and tool changes should be performed by qualified machinists or CNC technicians with the machine fully powered down and spindle locked. Confirm the tool holder collet or set-screw bore accommodates the 0.236-inch whistle notch shank before seating the bit. Verify coolant-through supply pressure and flow rate match shop system specifications before initiating production runs. Follow all applicable ANSI B11 machine tool safety standards during setup and operation.
