The WALTER-TITEX 6618302 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill bit designed for precision hole-making in demanding materials. Built on the DC150 series platform, this drill features a 140-degree point angle with a proprietary point geometry, a TiAlN coating for heat and wear resistance, and a whistle notch shank for secure tool holding. The bit measures 0.1420 inches in diameter with an overall length of 2.5984 inches (66.00 mm). It is suited for licensed machinists and toolroom technicians working with tight-tolerance production drilling applications where consistent performance and tool life are required.
This drill is rated for use in cast iron, non-ferrous metals, steel, superalloys, and titanium. It is well-suited for blind hole drilling and stack drilling operations in both production and job-shop environments. The coolant-through design supports high-feed, high-speed cutting strategies where internal coolant delivery is available. The 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio provides adequate chip evacuation in moderately deep holes without step drilling. Standard ANSI and ISO compliance makes it compatible with typical tooling specifications used across CNC machining and precision manual drilling setups.
Designed for use in cast iron (K), non-ferrous metals (N), steel (P), and superalloys and titanium (S) workpieces. Suitable for blind hole and stack drilling operations. Shank diameter of 0.2360 inches (5.99 mm) fits standard toolholders accepting whistle notch shanks in that size range. Conforms to ANSI and ISO standards per DC150 series specification.
Installation and tool changes should be performed by a qualified machinist with the machine powered down and locked out per applicable safety procedures. Confirm that the toolholder is rated for the shank diameter and shank type before securing the drill. When using the coolant-through feature, verify that the machine spindle and toolholder support internal coolant delivery at the required pressure. Inspect the cutting edges and coating condition before each use to confirm the tool is serviceable.
