The WALTER-TITEX 6618123 is a solid carbide screw machine length drill bit designed for precise, high-performance hole-making in demanding industrial applications. Measuring 0.315 inches (8.00 mm) in diameter with an overall length of 3.0 inches, this bit features a 140-degree split point angle and a three-flute spiral configuration that promotes efficient chip evacuation and stable cutting action. The straight-cylindrical shank measures 0.315 inches in diameter with a shank length of 1.4173 inches. Built to DIN and ISO standards, this bit is suited for machinists, tool-and-die workers, and production drilling operations where dimensional accuracy and tool life are critical.
The 6618123 is engineered for drilling cast iron and steel in screw machine length applications, where compact overall length and rigidity are required. The 3xD flute-to-diameter ratio and universal tool performance rating make it appropriate for a wide range of production environments, from CNC machining centers to manual drill presses. The coated solid carbide construction extends tool life compared to high-speed steel alternatives, particularly in abrasive ferrous materials. This bit does not include coolant-through capability, making it best suited for external coolant or dry drilling setups.
Designed for use in drilling cast iron and steel workpieces. Part of the WALTER-TITEX DC150-03-A0 series, covering drill bit sizes in the 0.3000 to 0.3500 inch (8.00 to 9.50 mm) range.
Installation and operation of this drill bit should be performed by qualified machinists familiar with carbide tooling. Ensure the machine spindle and chuck are clean and properly seated before securing the straight-cylindrical shank to prevent runout. Power down and de-energize the machine completely before changing tooling. Carbide drill bits are brittle and should not be subjected to side loads or used in hand-held drilling applications where tool flex is present.
