The WALTER-TITEX 5337294 is a cobalt (M35 grade) jobber-length drill bit designed for high-performance drilling in demanding metalworking applications. It features an AlCrN coating that extends tool life under elevated cutting temperatures. The drill runs a 130-degree split point with web thinning for fast, self-centering starts and reduced thrust. Overall length is 2.953 inches with a flute length of 1.693 inches. The straight-cylindrical shank measures 0.152 inches in diameter, matching the wire gauge No. 24 drill diameter of 0.152 inches. A parabolic flute geometry promotes efficient chip evacuation. This bit is installed by machinists, toolroom technicians, and maintenance mechanics using standard drill presses, CNC machining centers, and hand-held power tools.
This bit is built for production and job-shop environments where cast iron, stainless steel, carbon steel, and non-ferrous metals are machined. It is suited for blind-hole drilling and stack drilling operations where consistent hole quality and chip control are critical. The 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio and parabolic flute form handle deeper chip loads without packing. The DIN 338 specification and ANSI/ISO standards compliance make it a direct fit in tooling systems that specify standard jobber geometry.
Designed for use in standard drill chucks and collets accepting a 0.152-inch straight shank. Rated for primary workpiece materials including steel (P), stainless steel (M), cast iron (K), and non-ferrous metals (N) per ISO material group classification. Suitable for blind-hole and stack drilling applications in Series A1249XPL tooling programs.
This bit is installed by machinists and maintenance technicians using standard keyless or keyed drill chucks and collet holders. Ensure the shank is fully seated and the chuck or collet is tightened to the tool holder manufacturer's specification before beginning a cut. Coolant-through is not supported on this bit; external coolant or cutting fluid should be applied at the entry point when drilling stainless steel or cast iron. Inspect the cutting edge for wear or chipping before each use and replace the bit when point geometry is no longer within tolerance.
