The WALTER-TITEX 5154094 is a taper length twist drill bit designed for precision drilling in a wide range of metallic materials. Built from high speed steel (HSS) with a bright uncoated finish, it features a 130-degree split point and a parabolic flute geometry with web thinning to improve chip evacuation and reduce thrust in deeper holes. The drill measures 0.0700 inches in diameter with an overall length of 3-5/32 inches and a flute length of 2-3/32 inches. It conforms to DIN 340 standards and is rated as a high-performance grade bit. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals are the primary installers of this bit in production and maintenance drilling operations.
This drill bit is suited for blind hole drilling, stack drilling, and through-hole drilling in aluminum, aluminum silicon alloys, brass, bronze, copper alloys, stainless steel, and steel. The 12xD flute-length-to-diameter ratio and parabolic flute design allow effective chip removal at extended depths, making it appropriate for high-volume production environments as well as precision maintenance work. It is part of WALTER-TITEX Series A1522, a line of taper length drills engineered for consistent dimensional accuracy across demanding material applications.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct application drill for use in standard drill chucks and collet holders accepting a 0.0700-inch parallel shank. Compatible material applications include aluminum, aluminum silicon, brass, bronze, copper alloy, stainless steel, and steel as specified by the manufacturer for Series A1522.
This drill bit is installed by machinists, tool-and-die technicians, or maintenance professionals using standard drill presses, CNC machining centers, or hand-held power tools with a compatible chuck. Ensure the workpiece is securely fixtured and the machine spindle is at a full stop before changing or seating the bit. Use appropriate cutting fluid or coolant for the material being drilled, particularly with stainless steel, to maintain tool life. Dispose of worn bits per shop safety protocols and inspect shank and flutes for damage before each use.
