The WALTER-TITEX 5073989 is a 6-piece countersink set designed for creating clean, accurately angled seat recesses in metal workpieces. Each cutter in the set is manufactured from high-speed steel with a titanium nitride (TiN) coating, which increases surface hardness and extends cutting life compared to uncoated HSS tooling. The set covers a head diameter range of 0.248 to 0.8071 inches and shank diameters from 0.1969 to 0.3937 inches, giving machinists and toolroom technicians the flexibility to countersink a range of fastener sizes in a single kit. All six cutters feature a 90-degree included angle and right-hand cutting direction.
This countersink set is suited for use in machine shops, metalworking production environments, and maintenance repair operations where standard 90-degree countersunk fastener seats are required. Typical applications include countersinking for flat-head screws and bolts in ferrous and non-ferrous metals. The straight shank design allows the cutters to be held in standard drill press chucks, CNC machining centers, and hand-held power tools with compatible chuck capacity. The set ships in a plastic storage case that keeps cutters organized and protected between uses.
Designed as a general-purpose countersink set compatible with standard drill presses, CNC machining centers, and power drills accepting straight-shank tooling within the 0.1969 to 0.3937 inch shank diameter range.
Installation and use should be performed by qualified machinists or toolroom technicians familiar with metal-cutting operations. Secure the workpiece firmly before beginning any countersinking operation, and confirm the chuck is tightened and the machine is set to an appropriate speed for the material being cut. Inspect each cutter for chipping or wear before use, and store cutters in the provided case when not in use to protect the TiN coating.
