The WALTER-TITEX 5072519 is a chucking reamer designed to bring bored or drilled holes to a precise finished diameter with tight tolerance control. Built from cobalt steel with a bright, uncoated finish, this reamer is suited for demanding materials where heat resistance and edge retention matter. It features a 4.77 mm diameter, a 6-flute spiral geometry with left-hand spiral direction and right-hand cutting direction, and an overall length of 86 mm with a 23 mm flute length. The straight-cylindrical shank allows direct mounting in a standard drill chuck or collet chuck on a drill press, CNC machine, or manual lathe. Machinists and toolroom professionals are the primary installers.
This reamer fits typical finishing operations in machine shops, toolrooms, and production environments where hole diameter tolerance is critical. The 4.77 mm diameter corresponds to 0.1878 decimal inch, placing it in the 4.00 mm to 5.00 mm reamer diameter range. It is appropriate for through-hole and blind-hole finishing in ferrous and non-ferrous workpieces where a smooth, dimensionally accurate bore is required. The cobalt steel construction handles harder workpiece materials better than standard high-speed steel, making it a practical choice when cutting stainless steel, alloy steel, or similarly tough materials.
Designed as an OEM-style chucking reamer for use in machine tools accepting a straight-cylindrical shank in the 4.00 mm to 5.00 mm diameter class.
Chucking reamers are installed and operated by machinists following standard machine shop safety practices. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the chuck or collet is properly torqued before beginning a reaming operation. Use an appropriate cutting fluid for the workpiece material to extend tool life and improve bore finish. Do not use a chucking reamer to remove excessive stock; pre-drill or bore the hole to within 0.1 mm to 0.3 mm of finished diameter before reaming.
