The WALTER-TITEX 5062941 is a cobalt micro drill bit engineered for precision drilling in demanding materials. Built to DIN 1899 standards, it features a 1.35 mm diameter (0.0532 inch) with a straight-cylindrical shank measuring 1.50 mm in diameter. The 118-degree standard point angle and web-thinned, tapered web configuration reduce entry force and improve centering accuracy. The bright, uncoated cobalt construction provides heat resistance and edge retention without a coating layer that could add dimensional uncertainty at this micro scale. Overall length is 25 mm with a 9.50 mm flute length and a maximum drilling depth of 7.00 mm.
This micro drill bit is designed for high-precision applications including blind hole drilling, through hole drilling, and stack drilling. Its primary target workpiece materials are titanium alloys, with secondary capability in glass and graphite. The spiral flute geometry promotes chip evacuation in these difficult-to-machine materials. The Series A3143 designation places it in a purpose-built micro drill family intended for shops, toolrooms, and production environments where tight tolerances and small-diameter holes are routine requirements. Right-hand cut geometry is standard.
Designed for use in CNC machining centers, drill presses, and precision hand tools equipped with micro drill chucks or collets accepting a 1.50 mm straight-cylindrical shank. Suitable for titanium alloy workpieces and secondary materials including glass and graphite per Series A3143 application guidelines.
Micro drill bits at this diameter are typically installed and operated by machinists or toolroom technicians using precision collet chucks rated for small-diameter tooling. Ensure the spindle and chuck are clean and free of debris before seating the shank to prevent runout at this scale. Confirm machine RPM and feed rate settings are appropriate for 1.35 mm cobalt tooling in the target material before starting the cut. Do not apply side load or use this bit for any application outside its rated depth of 7.00 mm maximum.
