The WALTER-TITEX 5062908 is a cobalt micro drill bit designed for precision drilling in demanding materials. Built to DIN 1899 standards, this wire gauge size 69 bit measures 0.0292 inches in diameter with an overall length of 25 mm and a flute length of 4.80 mm. The 118-degree standard point angle and web-thinned, tapered web configuration allow for accurate entry and reduced thrust in tight-tolerance applications. The bright, uncoated cobalt construction provides heat resistance and edge retention when working in hard or abrasive workpiece materials. Right-hand spiral fluting promotes efficient chip evacuation during through-hole and blind-hole drilling operations. This bit is intended for use by machinists and precision fabricators working in production or toolroom environments.
This micro drill bit is well suited for blind hole drilling, stack drilling, and through-hole drilling in titanium alloy as its primary workpiece material. Secondary applications include drilling in glass and graphite. The straight-cylindrical shank with a 1.00 mm diameter fits standard micro drill chucks and collet holders. At a 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio and a maximum drilling depth of 3.60 mm (0.1000 inch), this bit is optimized for shallow, precise holes where dimensional accuracy is critical. It is a practical choice for aerospace component work, electronics, and specialty fabrication requiring consistent micro-diameter results.
Designed as an OEM-specification micro drill bit per DIN 1899 Series A3143, suited for use with standard straight-cylindrical micro drill chucks and collet systems accepting a 1.00 mm shank diameter. Rated for primary use in titanium alloy workpieces and secondary use in glass and graphite per manufacturer material codes K, N, P, S, M, and O.
Installation and use should be performed by qualified machinists or toolroom technicians familiar with micro-diameter tooling. Secure the bit firmly in a calibrated micro drill chuck or collet before operation to prevent runout. Because of the extremely small diameter, avoid side loading or flexing forces that can cause bit breakage. Inspect the cutting edge and point condition before each use, as cobalt micro bits are sensitive to chipping at this diameter range.
