The WALTER-TITEX 5062898 is a cobalt micro drill bit designed for precision drilling in demanding materials including titanium alloys, glass, and graphite. Built to DIN 1899 standards, this wire gauge size 72 bit has a decimal diameter of 0.0252 inches and a 118-degree standard point angle. The M35 cobalt steel construction provides heat resistance and edge retention when drilling hard or abrasive workpieces. At 25 mm overall length with a 1 mm straight-cylindrical shank, it is suited for high-precision work in CNC machining centers, drill presses, and precision hand tools. A web-thinned, tapered web design reduces thrust and improves chip evacuation in small-diameter applications.
This micro drill bit is used in precision machining environments including aerospace, electronics, and industrial fabrication where tight tolerances are required. It supports blind hole drilling, through hole drilling, and stack drilling operations. The spiral flute geometry and right-hand cut are standard for use with conventional rotating spindles. The bright, uncoated finish makes it suitable for applications where coating interaction with the workpiece material is a concern, particularly with titanium alloys and composite materials.
Designed as an OEM-style micro drill bit conforming to DIN 1899 specifications, suitable for use with precision spindles and collet systems accepting a 1 mm straight-cylindrical shank. Primary workpiece materials are titanium alloys; secondary materials include glass and graphite.
Installation and use should be performed by machinists or tool and die professionals familiar with micro-diameter tooling. Ensure the spindle and collet are free of debris and that runout is minimized before securing the shank, as small-diameter bits are sensitive to misalignment. Power down the machine and follow lockout/tagout procedures before changing tooling. Do not exceed recommended feed and speed parameters for the workpiece material to avoid bit breakage.
