The WALTER-TITEX 5062867 is a cobalt micro drill bit designed for precision drilling in tight-tolerance applications. Built to DIN 1899 standards, this wire gauge size 81 bit measures 0.0130 inches (0.33 mm) in diameter with a 118-degree standard point angle and a web-thinned, tapered web configuration for improved centering and reduced thrust. The M35 cobalt construction provides elevated heat resistance compared to standard high-speed steel, making it suitable for harder and more abrasive workpiece materials. Overall length is 25 mm with a 1.00 mm straight-cylindrical shank. Diameter tolerance is held to +0.000 to -0.004 mm, supporting repeatable results in close-tolerance work.
This bit is rated for use in titanium alloys as its primary workpiece material, with secondary suitability for glass and graphite. Typical applications include blind hole drilling, through hole drilling, and stack drilling where small-diameter precision is critical. The spiral flute geometry and 5xD flute-by-diameter ratio support chip evacuation in shallow, high-aspect micro holes. Right-hand cut direction is standard. This tool is used in precision machining, aerospace component fabrication, and specialty manufacturing environments where standard twist drills are too large or insufficiently rigid.
Rated for primary use in titanium alloy workpieces (material codes K, N, P, S) and secondary use in glass and graphite (material codes M, O). Part of the WALTER-TITEX Series A3143 micro drill line built to DIN 1899.
Installation and use of this micro drill bit should be performed by qualified machinists or tooling technicians familiar with CNC or manual precision drilling equipment. Ensure spindle runout is minimized before chucking the 1.00 mm shank, as even small runout values can break bits at this diameter. Power down and de-energize the machine before changing tooling. Maximum drilling depth per the manufacturer specification is 1.80 mm; exceeding this depth without proper peck-drilling cycles risks bit breakage.
