The WALTER-TITEX 5062842 is a cobalt micro drill bit designed for precision drilling in demanding small-diameter applications. Built to DIN 1899 standards, this bit features a 0.08 mm diameter with a 118-degree standard point angle and a web-thinned, tapered web configuration for accurate entry and reduced thrust. The M35 cobalt steel construction provides elevated heat resistance compared to standard high-speed steel, making it suitable for harder and more abrasive workpiece materials. The bright, uncoated finish keeps the surface consistent with standard cobalt tooling expectations. Overall length is 25 mm with a 1.00 mm straight-cylindrical shank. Licensed machinists, toolroom technicians, and precision machining professionals are the primary installers of this tooling.
This micro drill bit is rated for blind hole, through hole, and stack drilling operations. Primary workpiece materials include titanium alloy and other difficult-to-machine metals in the K, N, P, and S material groups. Secondary workpiece materials include glass and graphite. The 5xD flute-by-diameter ratio and 0.40 mm flute length suit extremely shallow, tight-tolerance work. Maximum drilling depth is 0.20 mm. The right-hand spiral flute promotes chip evacuation in miniature bores where clogging is a common failure point.
Designed for precision machining applications involving titanium alloy as the primary workpiece material, with secondary suitability for glass and graphite. Compatible with standard 1.00 mm straight-cylindrical shank collets and chucks used in CNC machining centers, micro-drilling spindles, and toolroom drill presses configured for miniature tooling. Series A3143.
Installation and use of this tooling should be performed by qualified machinists or toolroom technicians familiar with micro-diameter drill handling. Secure the 1.00 mm straight shank in a precision collet rated for the shank diameter to minimize runout, which is critical at this diameter. Do not exceed the maximum drilling depth of 0.20 mm without verifying workpiece setup and spindle concentricity. Inspect the cutting edge under magnification before and after use, as micro drill bits are highly susceptible to breakage from side loading or improper feed rates.
