The WALTER-TITEX 5062647 is an extra length high speed steel drill bit designed for deep-hole drilling in production and maintenance environments. Built to Series A1622 and conforming to DIN 1869-I, ANSI, and ISO standards, this bit features a 0.3858-inch (9.80 mm) diameter and a 130-degree split point with web thinning for reduced thrust and accurate self-centering on entry. The parabolic flute geometry promotes efficient chip evacuation over the 7-9/32-inch flute length, and the overall length of 10-7/16 inches allows access to features that standard-length bits cannot reach. Licensed machinists, toolmakers, and metalworking professionals install this bit in drill presses, CNC machining centers, and manual lathes where extended reach is required.
This drill bit is suited for blind hole and stack drilling applications across a broad range of workpiece materials including cast iron, non-ferrous metals, and steel as primary materials, with secondary capability in cobalt alloys, iron, nickel, and titanium alloys. The straight-cylindrical shank seats directly in standard drill chucks and collet systems without adapters. With a flute-to-diameter ratio of 16xD and a maximum drilling depth of 6.654 inches (169.00 mm), this bit is well-matched to deep-hole work where chip control and hole straightness are critical. It is manufactured from M2 grade high speed steel and left uncoated.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and direct-fit cutting tool for any drill press, CNC machining center, or manual machine tool equipped with a chuck or collet accepting a 9.80 mm straight-cylindrical shank. Suitable for blind hole and stack drilling operations per the manufacturer application designation.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician. Secure the shank fully in the chuck or collet to the recommended grip depth before operation, and verify runout with a dial indicator when tight tolerances are required. Ensure the machine is at a full stop and power is locked out before changing or inspecting the bit. Do not exceed the maximum drilling depth of 6.654 inches, and apply appropriate cutting fluid or coolant compatible with the workpiece material to extend tool life.
