The WALTER-TITEX 5062639 is a high-speed steel (HSS) extra length drill bit designed for deep-hole and blind-hole drilling in demanding industrial and trade applications. It features a 0.3543-inch (9.00 mm) diameter, a parabolic flute geometry measuring 6.8898 inches (175.00 mm) in flute length, and a 130-degree drill point angle optimized for efficient chip evacuation and reduced thrust. The straight-cylindrical shank and web-thinned, tapered web configuration improve both rigidity and entry performance. At 0.2 pounds, it is a precision ground M2 HSS tool with an uncoated finish, built to Series A1622 specifications. Licensed machinists, tool-and-die professionals, and maintenance mechanics rely on this bit for consistent performance in ferrous and non-ferrous materials.
This drill bit is rated for use in cast iron, non-ferrous metals, and steel as primary workpiece materials, and is suited for secondary materials including cobalt, iron, nickel, and titanium alloys. With a flute-to-diameter ratio of 16xD and a maximum drilling depth of 6.2990 inches (160.00 mm), it is well suited for stack drilling and blind-hole operations where standard-length bits cannot reach. Right-hand cutting direction and parabolic flute geometry make it compatible with CNC machining centers and manual drill presses alike. It conforms to ANSI, DIN 1869-I, and ISO standards.
Rated for primary workpiece materials including cast iron, non-ferrous metals, and steel (ISO material codes K, N, P), and secondary materials including cobalt, iron, nickel, and titanium alloys (ISO material codes M, O, S). Suitable for CNC and manual drilling equipment that accepts a 9.00 mm straight-cylindrical shank.
Installation should be performed by qualified machinists or maintenance professionals familiar with drill bit setup and safe machine operation. Secure the shank fully in the drill chuck or collet before powering the machine, and confirm runout is within acceptable tolerance before drilling. For deep-hole and stack drilling applications, reduce feed rate as the bit approaches maximum drilling depth to prevent deflection or tool breakage. Coolant-through capability is not available on this model, so external coolant or cutting fluid is recommended when drilling steel or titanium alloys.
