The WALTER-TITEX 5062539 is an extra length, high speed steel twist drill bit designed for deep-hole drilling in production and job-shop environments. Built to the A1622 Series, it features a parabolic flute geometry and a web-thinned, tapered web configuration that promotes efficient chip evacuation and reduced thrust force. The bit measures 0.5 inches in diameter with an overall length of 11.625 inches and a flute length of 8.0625 inches, making it well suited for applications that demand reach beyond what a jobber-length drill can provide. Right-hand cutting direction and a 130-degree point angle are standard. This tool is installed and used by machining professionals, toolroom technicians, and CNC setup personnel.
The 5062539 is intended for blind-hole and stack drilling operations in cast iron, non-ferrous metals, and steel as its primary workpiece materials. Secondary workpiece materials include cobalt alloys, iron-based alloys, nickel alloys, and titanium alloys. The 16xD flute-to-diameter ratio supports drilling depths up to 7.52 inches in a single setup. Its straight-cylindrical shank accepts standard drill chucks and collet holders sized for 0.5-inch shanks, making it compatible with a wide range of vertical mills, drill presses, and machining centers.
Designed as an OEM-specification extra length drill bit conforming to DIN 1869-I and ANSI standards, compatible with standard 0.5-inch drill chucks, ER collets, and hydraulic toolholders on vertical machining centers, knee mills, and drill presses. Suitable for primary workpiece material codes K, N, and P and secondary material codes M, O, and S as defined by the ISO material classification system.
Installation and use should be performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician familiar with cutting tool setup. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is powered down before loading or removing the bit from the toolholder. Verify runout with a dial indicator after chucking, as extra length drills are more sensitive to spindle misalignment than jobber-length tools. Do not exceed the maximum drilling depth of 7.52 inches without retracting to clear chips, and confirm that coolant-through capability is not required for the application before use, as this bit does not support coolant through.
