The WALTER-TITEX 5060622 is a cobalt jobber length drill bit designed for high-performance drilling in demanding metal-cutting applications. It measures 7.7 mm (0.3031 inches) in diameter with an overall length of 4-19/32 inches and a flute length of 2-15/16 inches. The bit features an oxide coating over its cobalt substrate, a 130-degree split point, and a parabolic flute geometry that promotes efficient chip evacuation. The straight-cylindrical shank is sized at 0.3031 inches in diameter. This drill is intended for use by machinists, maintenance technicians, and trade professionals who require consistent performance in tough ferrous and non-ferrous materials.
This bit is engineered for blind hole and stack drilling operations. It performs across a range of primary workpiece materials including cast iron, non-ferrous metal, stainless steel, carbon and alloy steel, and superalloys including titanium. The 8xD flute-to-diameter ratio supports deeper cuts relative to diameter, making it suited for production and maintenance drilling where hole depth and chip control are critical. The parabolic flute design reduces cutting resistance and heat buildup during extended drilling cycles. It conforms to ANSI and ISO standards and carries BS and DIN specification designations.
Suitable for drilling cast iron, non-ferrous metals, stainless steel, carbon and alloy steel, and superalloys including titanium. Designed for use in standard drill chucks accepting a 0.3031-inch straight-cylindrical shank. Coolant-through capability is not supported on this model.
Installation and use should be performed by qualified machinists or trade professionals familiar with metal-cutting drill press and hand-drill operations. Secure the workpiece before drilling and verify chuck grip on the straight shank before engaging the spindle. Do not exceed the maximum drilling depth of 2.441 inches (62.00 mm) without retracting to clear chips, particularly in blind-hole applications. Follow applicable shop safety protocols and equipment manufacturer guidelines for speed and feed selection based on workpiece material.
