Product Description

The WALTER-TITEX 5060598 is a cobalt jobber length drill bit designed for high-performance drilling in demanding metalworking applications. At 5.6 mm (0.2205 inches) in diameter, the bit features a 130-degree split point and a parabolic flute geometry that promotes efficient chip evacuation and reduces cutting force. The oxide coating improves surface hardness and heat resistance. With an overall length of 93 mm (3.661 inches) and a maximum drilling depth of 48 mm (1.89 inches), this bit is suited for professional use by machinists, maintenance technicians, and metalworking tradespeople who require consistent performance on tough materials.

This drill bit is engineered for use in cast iron, non-ferrous metals, stainless steel, carbon and alloy steel, and superalloys including titanium. It is well suited to blind hole drilling and stack drilling operations. The straight-cylindrical shank (0.2205 inches diameter) fits standard drill chucks without adapters, making it compatible with bench drills, CNC drilling centers, and handheld drill motors used in fabrication, maintenance, and production environments.

Key Features

  • Cobalt construction with oxide coating for heat resistance and extended tool life in hard and abrasive materials
  • 130-degree split point reduces walking and decreases thrust force at entry
  • Parabolic flute design promotes rapid chip evacuation, especially in deep or blind holes
  • Web-thinned tapered web reduces cutting resistance in tough alloys
  • Flute-to-diameter ratio of 8xD supports drilling to 48 mm (1.89 inches) depth
  • Meets ANSI and ISO standards; specification designation per BS and DIN

Compatibility

Designed for use in cast iron, non-ferrous metals, stainless steel, steel, and superalloys including titanium, as designated by material codes K, M, N, P, and S. Suitable for blind hole and stack drilling operations within the A1247 series application range.

Installation Notes

Installation and use of this bit should be performed by qualified machinists or tradespeople familiar with metal drilling practices. Secure the straight-cylindrical shank firmly in a drill chuck rated for the intended RPM and feed rate. De-energize and lock out any machine before changing bits. Do not exceed the rated maximum drilling depth of 48 mm (1.89 inches), and use appropriate cutting fluid or coolant for the workpiece material when conditions permit, even though this bit does not have through-coolant capability.
