The WALTER-TITEX 5060550 is a cobalt, jobber-length drill bit designed for high-performance metal drilling in demanding production and maintenance environments. Built to Series A1247 specifications, it carries a 17/64 inch (0.2656 inch decimal) diameter, a 130-degree split point for accurate self-centering on entry, and a parabolic flute geometry that improves chip evacuation and reduces heat buildup during deep-hole passes. The oxide coating adds surface hardness and lubricity. With an overall length of 109 mm and a maximum drilling depth of 57 mm, this bit is suited for blind-hole work and stack drilling applications. Licensed tradespeople and production machinists install this tool in CNC drill presses, radial arm drills, and handheld pneumatic drills.
This drill bit is rated for use on cast iron, non-ferrous metals, stainless steel, carbon and alloy steel, superalloys, and titanium. The parabolic flute design and web-thinned, tapered web configuration make it particularly effective on tough-to-machine materials where standard jobber bits overheat or walk. Typical applications include blind-hole drilling and stack drilling in fabrication shops, MRO facilities, and aerospace or heavy industrial settings where consistent hole tolerance is required. The straight-cylindrical shank fits standard drill chucks without adapters.
Designed for use in standard drill chucks accepting a 17/64 inch straight-cylindrical shank. Rated for cast iron, non-ferrous metal, stainless steel, steel, superalloys, and titanium workpiece materials per Series A1247 application guidelines.
Installation and use should follow safe machining practices appropriate to the workpiece material and drilling equipment in use. Secure the workpiece firmly before drilling and confirm chuck engagement on the full shank diameter before running the spindle. Do not exceed the rated maximum drilling depth of 57 mm in a single pass without retracting to clear chips. Cutting fluid or coolant is recommended when drilling stainless steel, superalloys, or titanium, even though this bit does not have through-coolant capability.
