The WALTER-TITEX 5060481 is a cobalt jobber length drill bit designed for demanding drilling applications in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. It carries a wire gauge size of 39, equivalent to 0.0995 inches in decimal, with an overall length of 2.25 inches and a flute length of 1.1875 inches. The 130-degree split point reduces walking and thrust, while the parabolic flute geometry improves chip evacuation in deep cuts. An oxide coating provides corrosion resistance and reduced friction at the cutting edge. This bit is intended for use by machinists, maintenance technicians, and metalworking professionals operating drill presses, CNC equipment, or hand drills in production and field environments.
This drill bit is rated for use in cast iron, non-ferrous metals, stainless steel, carbon and alloy steel, superalloys, and titanium. It is listed under Series A1247 and meets ANSI and ISO standards, as well as BS and DIN specification designations. Typical applications include blind hole drilling and stack drilling operations where chip control and tool longevity are critical. The straight-cylindrical shank seats securely in standard drill chucks across a wide range of machine types. A flute-to-diameter ratio of 8xD supports drilling to a maximum depth of 1.024 inches.
Rated for primary workpiece material codes K, M, N, P, and S, covering cast iron, non-ferrous metals, stainless steel, carbon and alloy steel, superalloys, and titanium. Fits drill bit size range 0.0500 to 0.1000 inches and is compatible with standard straight-shank drill chucks on drill presses, lathes, and CNC machining centers.
Installation and use should be performed by a qualified machinist or trained technician following standard machine shop safety practices. Secure the shank fully in the chuck and verify runout before beginning a cut. Power down and de-energize all equipment before changing bits or performing tool inspection. Do not exceed the rated maximum drilling depth of 1.024 inches in a single pass without retracting to clear chips.
