The WALTER-TITEX 5060463 is a cobalt jobber-length drill bit in wire gauge size 22, with a decimal diameter of 0.1570 inches and an overall length of 2-15/16 inches. It features a 130-degree split point for accurate starting without center-punching and a parabolic flute geometry that promotes efficient chip evacuation. The oxide coating improves surface hardness and reduces heat buildup during drilling. This bit is built to high-performance standards and is suited for production drilling environments where tool life and hole quality are critical priorities. Machinists and maintenance professionals are the primary users of this drill bit.
This drill bit is rated for use in cast iron, non-ferrous metals, stainless steel, carbon and alloy steel, superalloys, and titanium. The parabolic flute design with an 8xD flute-to-diameter ratio supports both blind hole drilling and stack drilling applications. The straight-cylindrical shank fits standard drill chucks and machine tool spindles. The tapered web with web-thinning reduces thrust force, which is especially useful when working in harder or more demanding workpiece materials. Series A1247 tools meet ANSI and ISO standards as well as BS and DIN specification designations.
Designed for use in standard drill chucks and CNC machining centers accepting a 0.1570-inch straight-cylindrical shank. Suitable for primary workpiece material codes K, M, N, P, and S per ISO classification, covering cast iron, non-ferrous metals, stainless steel, carbon steel, and superalloys including titanium.
This drill bit is installed by metalworking machinists and maintenance mechanics using standard 3-jaw or collet-style drill chucks. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked before securing or removing the bit. Use appropriate cutting fluid or coolant at the workpiece surface when drilling stainless steel, superalloys, or titanium to manage heat buildup, even though this bit does not support through-coolant delivery. Verify maximum drilling depth does not exceed 1.4170 inches for this tool in a single-pass or peck-drilling cycle.
