The WALTER-TITEX 5060306 is a cobalt jobber-length drill bit engineered for high-performance drilling in difficult-to-machine materials. Built to DIN 338 specification and conforming to ANSI and ISO standards, it carries an M35 cobalt high-speed steel material grade that resists heat and maintains cutting-edge hardness under aggressive feed conditions. The 130-degree VA point geometry reduces thrust and improves centering when entering hard or work-hardening materials. With a bright, uncoated finish and a straight-cylindrical shank, it seats cleanly in standard drill chucks and collet holders without modification. Licensed machinists, tool-and-die technicians, and industrial maintenance professionals rely on this series for precision hole-making in demanding applications.
This drill is rated for use in stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium — materials that generate significant heat and tool wear. The Series A1244 is specifically suited for blind hole drilling and stack drilling operations where consistent point geometry and flute evacuation matter. The 8xD flute-to-diameter ratio, two-flute spiral configuration, and tapered web design support chip clearance in deep-hole scenarios up to a maximum drilling depth of 17.00 mm (0.6693 inches). The overall length of 43.00 mm (1.6929 inches) fits standard toolholding setups on CNC machining centers, drill presses, and manual mills.
Designed for use in standard drill chucks, collet systems, and toolholders accepting a 1.65 mm (0.0650 inch) straight-cylindrical shank. Appropriate for CNC machining centers, drill presses, and manual milling machines drilling stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium workpieces requiring a jobber-length cobalt drill.
Installation and tool changes should be performed by qualified machinists or maintenance technicians with the machine fully powered down and spindle at rest. Verify chuck or collet runout before use, as excessive runout will accelerate wear on small-diameter drills. Coolant through is not supported on this tool; apply external coolant or cutting fluid at the workpiece entry point when drilling heat-sensitive alloys. Follow applicable ANSI machining safety standards for rotating tooling and chip containment.
