The WALTER-TITEX 5059398 is a jobber length drill bit designed for high-performance drilling in demanding trade and industrial applications. Manufactured from bright-finish high speed steel, this wire gauge size 54 bit measures 0.0550 inches in diameter with an overall length of 1-9/16 inches. The 130-degree drill point angle and parabolic flute geometry work together to improve chip evacuation and reduce heat buildup during drilling. The web-thinned, tapered web design lowers entry resistance, and the straight-cylindrical shank ensures consistent runout in standard drill chucks. This bit meets ANSI and ISO standards and carries a Series A1222 designation, placing it in the high-performance category.
This drill bit is suited for blind hole drilling and stack drilling operations on cast iron, non-ferrous metals, and steel. The 8xD flute-to-diameter ratio and a maximum drilling depth of 0.591 inches make it appropriate for production environments and precision work where chip clearance and hole quality are priorities. It is commonly used by machinists, maintenance technicians, and fabrication professionals working with light-gauge and medium-gauge materials. The bit is not coolant-through equipped, so it is intended for dry or externally lubricated drilling setups.
Designed for use on cast iron, non-ferrous metals, and steel workpieces. Suitable for blind hole and stack drilling applications. Compatible with standard drill chucks accepting a 0.0550-inch straight-cylindrical shank.
This bit is installed by machinists and maintenance technicians using standard keyed or keyless drill chucks on bench drills, CNC machines, or handheld drills. Ensure the chuck is fully tightened and the bit is seated square before beginning any drilling operation. Since this bit is not coolant-through, apply cutting fluid externally when drilling steel or cast iron to extend tool life and maintain hole quality. Inspect the cutting edges for wear or chipping between operations, particularly in stack drilling setups where heat and load are elevated.
