The WALTER-TITEX 5058699 is a jobber length drill bit designed for high-performance drilling in cast iron and steel. It is manufactured from high speed steel with an oxide coating for increased surface hardness and wear resistance. The bit measures 20 mm (0.7874 inches) in diameter with an overall length of 8-5/64 inches and a flute length of 5-33/64 inches. A standard 118-degree drill point angle and web-thinned geometry reduce thrust and improve chip clearance. This bit is suited for use in machine shop, fabrication, and production environments where consistent, repeatable hole quality is required.
The 5058699 is intended for drilling blind holes and stack drilling operations in cast iron and steel workpieces. Its straight-cylindrical shank is compatible with standard drill chucks across a wide range of drilling equipment. The regular spiral flute promotes efficient chip evacuation during right-hand cutting operations. With a maximum drilling depth of 4.7240 inches (120 mm) and a flute-to-diameter ratio of 8xD, this bit handles deeper hole applications within jobber length constraints. It conforms to ANSI, ISO, BS, and DIN standards, making it suitable for both domestic and international production specifications.
Designed for drilling cast iron and steel workpieces. Primary workpiece material codes K and P. Suitable for use with standard drill chucks accepting a straight-cylindrical shank. Series A1211, applicable to general-purpose drilling applications in the 15 mm and larger diameter range per Series designation.
This drill bit is installed and operated by machinists or trade professionals using drilling equipment such as drill presses, CNC machining centers, or handheld power drills with appropriate chuck capacity. Ensure the machine spindle and chuck are fully stopped before inserting or removing the bit. Secure the shank firmly in the chuck to the full depth of the shank length to prevent runout or pullout during operation. Coolant through is not supported on this bit; use external coolant or cutting fluid as needed based on workpiece material and machine setup.
