The WALTER-TITEX 5058303 is a jobber length drill bit designed for high-performance drilling in cast iron and steel. It is manufactured from high speed steel (HSS) with an oxide coating for improved wear resistance. The bit carries a wire gauge size of 21, which equals 0.1590 inches in decimal, and features a standard 118-degree split point with web thinning for easier penetration and reduced thrust. With an overall length of 2-15/16 inches and a 2-flute spiral flute design, it is suited for general-purpose production drilling by machinists and maintenance technicians working on metal fabrication and repair applications.
This drill bit is rated for blind hole drilling and stack drilling operations in cast iron and steel workpieces. The regular spiral flute geometry and tapered web configuration make it a practical choice for production shops, tool rooms, and field maintenance settings where consistent hole quality in ferrous metals is required. It conforms to ANSI and ISO standards as well as BS and DIN specification designations, making it suitable for both domestic and international manufacturing environments. The straight-cylindrical shank fits standard drill chucks without modification.
Designed for drilling cast iron and steel workpieces. Listed tool applications include blind hole drilling and stack drilling. Compatible with standard drill chucks accepting a 0.1590-inch straight-cylindrical shank.
Installation is performed by machinists or maintenance technicians using a standard keyed or keyless drill chuck on a drill press, hand drill, or CNC spindle. Ensure the machine is fully de-energized and the chuck is fully tightened before operation. Do not exceed the recommended maximum drilling depth of 1.417 inches for this bit diameter. Use appropriate cutting fluid or coolant for ferrous materials when cycle times or workpiece temperatures indicate heat buildup.
