The WALTER-TITEX 5058270 is a jobber length twist drill bit sized to letter G (0.2610 inches diameter) and designed for general-purpose drilling in ferrous materials. Built from high speed steel with an oxide coating for surface protection, it features a standard 118-degree split point and a web-thinned, tapered web geometry that reduces thrust and improves chip evacuation. The spiral flute design with a regular helix promotes consistent chip removal during both blind hole and stack drilling operations. With an overall length of 3-31/32 inches and a 2-1/2 inch flute length, this bit handles moderate drilling depths in common shop and field applications.
This bit is suited for use in cast iron and steel workpieces, covering primary workpiece material codes K and P. Typical applications include blind hole drilling and stack drilling on structural steel, fabricated components, and cast iron assemblies encountered in manufacturing, maintenance, and mechanical trades. The straight-cylindrical shank at 0.2610 inches diameter fits standard three-jaw drill chucks without adapters. Series A1211 designation places it within a catalog-defined jobber length family built to ANSI, ISO, BS, and DIN standards.
Designed for use in cast iron and steel workpieces; compatible with standard three-jaw drill chucks accepting a 0.2610 inch straight-cylindrical shank. Rated for general-purpose performance across blind hole and stack drilling applications per Series A1211 specifications.
Installation and use is performed by machinists, maintenance mechanics, pipefitters, or other trades requiring precision hole making in metal. Secure the shank fully in a drill chuck and verify runout before drilling. Always de-energize and lock out rotating equipment before changing bits. Do not exceed the bit material rating for workpiece hardness, and apply appropriate cutting fluid when drilling steel to extend tool life.
