The WALTER SURFACE TECHNOLOGIES 15F312 is a mounted flap wheel designed for precision grinding, blending, and finishing on metal surfaces. Built around a 1/4-inch shank, it mounts directly to die grinders, bench grinders, or straight-shaft tools for stable, controlled material removal. The wheel measures 2 inches in diameter with a 1-inch face width and carries a 120-grit aluminum oxide abrasive on a cloth backing. At a fine grade, it suits deburring, light stock removal, and surface prep work where a consistent finish is required. Rated to 25,000 RPM maximum, it handles the speeds typical of pneumatic and electric rotary tools used in metal fabrication and maintenance.
This flap wheel is suited for use on aluminum, stainless steel, and carbon steel. Typical applications include weld blending, edge deburring, and contour finishing in fabrication shops, maintenance facilities, and field repair scenarios. The coated aluminum oxide abrasive performs well on both ferrous and non-ferrous metals, making it a versatile choice when a single abrasive needs to handle mixed-material workpieces. It is compatible with bench grinders and straight-shaft tools that accept a 1/4-inch shank.
Designed for use with bench grinders and straight-shaft tools equipped with a 1/4-inch shank collet or chuck. Rated for material applications on aluminum, stainless steel, and steel.
Installation is performed by qualified metalworking technicians or maintenance personnel. Before mounting, confirm the tool spindle speed does not exceed the 25,000 RPM maximum rating stamped on the wheel. Thread the 1/4-inch shank fully into the collet and tighten according to the tool manufacturer's torque recommendation before powering on. Always wear appropriate PPE including eye protection and gloves, and ensure the work area is clear of flammable materials when grinding stainless steel or aluminum.
