The WALTER SURFACE TECHNOLOGIES 11U403 is a Type 1 (01/41) resinoid-bonded cut-off wheel engineered for cutting aluminum. Built from reinforced aluminum oxide abrasive at 60 grit, this wheel delivers consistent, aggressive cutting action while maintaining structural integrity at high rotational speeds. Rated to a maximum of 19,100 RPM, it is designed for use on angle grinders and cut-off tools commonly operated by metal fabricators, pipefitters, and maintenance trades. The 4-inch diameter and ultra-thin 1/32-inch profile minimize material loss and reduce heat buildup at the cut zone.
This wheel is specifically suited for cutting aluminum stock, extrusions, tubing, and sheet in fabrication and maintenance settings. The A60 specification indicates an aluminum oxide abrasive grain at 60 grit, balanced for clean cuts on non-ferrous aluminum workpieces. The 3/8-inch arbor hole fits standard small-angle grinder spindles. Its thin kerf profile makes it well-suited for precision cuts where minimal burr and distortion are required. Licensed trades and fabrication shops working on aluminum framing, HVAC ductwork components, or structural aluminum will find this wheel a practical fit for daily production use.
Designed for use on angle grinders and cut-off tools with a 3/8-inch arbor and a maximum spindle speed at or below 19,100 RPM. Intended application is aluminum cutting per the A60 specification designation.
Installation and operation must be performed by qualified personnel following ANSI B7.1 safety standards for the use, care, and protection of abrasive wheels. Always verify that the grinder's rated no-load RPM does not exceed the wheel's 19,100 RPM maximum before mounting. Inspect the wheel for cracks or damage before each use and never operate a damaged or out-of-round wheel. Wear appropriate PPE including eye protection and a face shield during operation.
