The WALTER SURFACE TECHNOLOGIES 11T162 is a depressed-center grinding wheel designed for aggressive material removal on angle grinders. Built with aluminum oxide abrasive and a resinoid bond, it delivers consistent cutting action across a range of ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The wheel measures 6 inches in diameter and 3/64 inches thick, with a 7/8-inch arbor hole for secure mounting. It is rated to a maximum of 10,200 RPM and carries a reinforced construction for added durability under load. Grit is 60, placing it in the coarse range for heavy stock removal rather than finishing work. This wheel is appropriate for experienced tradespeople and shop personnel working with grinders in fabrication and maintenance settings.
The 11T162 is suited for grinding cast iron, sheet metal, stainless steel, and carbon steel. Its Type 27 and Type 42 configuration makes it compatible with standard angle grinders used in welding shops, metal fabrication facilities, and general industrial maintenance. The depressed-center profile allows the wheel to work flush against flat surfaces and into tight areas where a flat wheel would create clearance problems. This makes it a practical choice for weld dressing, surface conditioning, and burr removal on structural and plate steel.
Designed for use with angle grinders accepting a 7/8-inch arbor and compatible with Type 27 and Type 42 wheel configurations. Suitable for grinding cast iron, sheet metal, stainless steel, and steel.
This wheel should be installed and operated by qualified personnel familiar with abrasive wheel safety. Always power down and disconnect the grinder before mounting or removing the wheel. Inspect the wheel for cracks or damage before each use and never operate above the marked maximum RPM. Follow ANSI B7.1 safety requirements for the use, care, and protection of abrasive wheels.
