The WALTER SURFACE TECHNOLOGIES 11L413 is a Type 1 (01/41) reinforced aluminum oxide cutoff wheel designed for aggressive cutting on steel and stainless steel. Measuring 4 inches in diameter and 1/16 inch thick with a 3/8-inch arbor hole, this wheel is built for die grinder use in demanding fabrication and maintenance environments. The resinoid bond holds the 24-grit aluminum oxide abrasive firmly during high-speed operation, rated to a maximum of 19,100 RPM. Its thin profile minimizes material loss and reduces heat buildup at the cut line, which matters on stainless steel where discoloration and work hardening are concerns.
This cutoff wheel is suited for metal fabrication shops, maintenance and repair operations, pipefitting, and structural steel work. The 4-inch diameter and 3/8-inch hole make it a direct fit for standard die grinders used by pipefitters, ironworkers, welders, and general maintenance technicians. The Type 1 flat profile is the go-to geometry for straight, plunge, and flush cutting on bar stock, pipe, sheet metal, and structural shapes in both shop and field settings.
Designed for use with die grinders. Rated for cutting steel and stainless steel. The 3/8-inch arbor hole fits standard die grinder spindles accepting Type 1 cutoff wheels at the specified diameter.
Always verify the grinder spindle speed does not exceed the 19,100 RPM wheel rating before mounting. Inspect the wheel for cracks or chips before each use and never operate a damaged wheel. Wear appropriate PPE including a face shield and ensure workpieces are secured. Follow ANSI B7.1 and applicable employer safety standards for abrasive wheel mounting and guarding.
