The WALTER-PROTOTYP 7810031 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for demanding metal removal in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, and titanium. Built to the MC326 series standard, it carries a TiAlN PVD coating applied under the WK40TF material grade designation, which extends tool life in high-heat cutting environments. The 4-flute, single-end geometry with a 0.030-inch corner radius supports both roughing and finishing operations in a single tool. Right-hand cutting and right-hand flute direction make it compatible with standard CNC toolholders and machining centers. Licensed machinists and CNC operators will find this tool suited to high-productivity steel applications where edge integrity matters.
This end mill is built for use in vertical and horizontal machining centers handling ferrous and exotic workpiece materials. The long-length configuration with a 1-inch length of cut and 3.5-inch overall length gives reach for deeper cavity work without sacrificing rigidity. The straight-cylindrical shank at 0.500 inches diameter fits standard collet chucks and hydraulic toolholders. Primary application is steel (ISO P), with secondary ratings for stainless steel (M), cast iron (K), and superalloys and titanium (S). It is a center-cutting design, allowing plunge entry where required by the operation.
Designed for use with standard CNC toolholders accepting a 0.500-inch straight-cylindrical shank. WALTER-PROTOTYP catalog reference MC326.12.7A4D076. Compatible with ISO P (steel), M (stainless steel), K (cast iron), and S (superalloys and titanium) workpiece material classifications.
Installation is performed by a qualified CNC machinist or toolroom technician. Secure the shank fully into the toolholder to the recommended gauge line before tightening; never grip on the fluted section. Verify runout with a dial indicator after assembly and before cutting, as excessive runout will accelerate wear on a 4-flute solid carbide tool. Confirm spindle direction is set to right-hand rotation before engaging the workpiece.
