The WALTER-PROTOTYP 7270269 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill engineered for demanding metal removal in production and tool room environments. It carries a 0.03-inch corner radius that reduces stress concentration at the cutting edge, extending tool life on tough materials. The 5-flute, right-hand helical geometry delivers a balance of chip evacuation and surface finish suited for both roughing and finishing passes. A PVD-applied TiAlN coating provides thermal resistance and hardness retention at elevated cutting temperatures, making this mill a practical choice for aggressive feeds and speeds on steel and stainless steel. Licensed machinists and CNC programmers running production runs or prototype work will find the long-reach geometry useful in deep-cavity and extended-reach applications.
This end mill is designed for milling steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, and superalloys including titanium, covering ISO material groups P, M, K, N, and S. The extended-reach, straight cylindrical shank mounts directly into standard toolholders for CNC machining centers and manual mills. The long flute configuration and chipbreaker geometry make it suitable for slotting, profiling, and pocketing in applications where tool deflection control and chip management are critical. It belongs to the WALTER-PROTOTYP MD133 series, which is designed for versatility across a broad range of workpiece materials.
Designed for use with standard cylindrical-bore toolholders. Compatible with workpiece materials including steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, and superalloys and titanium. Part of the WALTER-PROTOTYP MD133 series.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before mounting or removing the end mill. Use a properly sized toolholder matched to the 1/2-inch straight cylindrical shank and torque collet or set screws per the toolholder manufacturer specifications. Verify runout at the cutting diameter before beginning production cuts to avoid premature edge wear.
