The WALTER-PROTOTYP 7254734 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance metal removal in hard material applications. Built on the MC187 series platform, it features a 10 mm cutting diameter, a 0.5 mm corner radius, and six helical flutes ground from fine-grain carbide stock. The tool carries a TiAlSiN PVD coating, which provides thermal and abrasion resistance at elevated cutting temperatures. With a 22 mm length of cut and a 72 mm overall length, this end mill handles both roughing and finishing operations in a single tool, making it a practical choice for shops running hard-material die and mold work or aerospace component machining.
This end mill is intended for use in hard material workpiece applications, consistent with ISO material group H. The extended reach geometry, with a 32 mm reach length, gives clearance for deeper cavity and pocket work without requiring a longer-than-necessary tool assembly. It mounts in a standard straight-cylindrical toolholder accepting 10 mm shank diameters with h6 tolerance. Close pitch flute spacing supports chip control during aggressive passes. Right-hand cutting and right-hand flute direction are standard. The tool is single-end, non-centercutting, and does not support coolant-through delivery.
Designed for use with standard straight-cylindrical toolholders accepting a 10 mm shank diameter (h6 tolerance). Suited for CNC machining centers running hard material workpieces in die, mold, and precision component applications. Part of the WALTER-PROTOTYP MC187 series.
Installation and tool changes should be performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician with the spindle fully stopped and the machine in a safe, de-energized state. Verify toolholder runout and clamping torque per the toolholder manufacturer specifications before cutting. Do not use this end mill for plunge cutting, as it is non-centercutting. Hard material applications require validated cutting parameters matched to the specific workpiece hardness and machine rigidity.
