The WALTER-PROTOTYP 6579429 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance material removal in demanding machining environments. Built to the MC326 series specification, it features a 10 mm cutting diameter with a 0.50 mm corner radius, a 22 mm length of cut, and a 100 mm overall length. The TiAlN PVD coating provides thermal resistance and wear protection at elevated cutting speeds. With four right-hand spiral flutes and a high helix angle, this tool supports both roughing and finishing operations. Licensed machinists and CNC tooling technicians specify this type of end mill for precision contouring and profiling in production and job-shop environments.
The 6579429 is suited for milling steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, and titanium. Its extended-reach geometry, with a 60 mm reach length and a 9.50 mm neck diameter, allows access to deeper pockets and stepped features without sacrificing rigidity. The straight-cylindrical shank (10 mm, h5 tolerance) mounts directly into standard collet chucks, shrink-fit holders, or hydraulic toolholders. Centercutting capability allows plunge entry without a pre-drilled hole, reducing setup steps in multi-operation programs.
Designed for use with standard collet chuck, shrink-fit, and hydraulic toolholders accepting a 10 mm straight-cylindrical shank. Primary workpiece materials are steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, and titanium (material codes P, M, K, S). Secondary workpiece materials include cast iron, hard materials, and stainless steel.
Installation should be performed by a qualified CNC machinist or tooling technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the toolholder is clean and free of debris before mounting. Verify runout with a dial indicator after clamping to confirm proper seating. Follow the machine tool manufacturer and toolholder manufacturer specifications for pull-out force and clamping torque appropriate to the holder type in use.
