The WALTER-PROTOTYP 6579367 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance milling in demanding materials including steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and superalloys and titanium. It features a 4.8 mm (0.189 inch) cutting diameter with a 0.16 mm (0.006 inch) corner radius, a 5 mm length of cut, and a TiAlN PVD coating that supports both roughing and finishing operations. The 4-flute, right-hand spiral geometry with a high helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and stable cutting at elevated feeds. This tool is single-ended, centercutting, and mounted on a straight cylindrical 6 mm shank.
This end mill is suited for use in CNC machining centers and milling applications where tight tolerances and surface finish are required across a wide range of workpiece materials. The extended reach design and coarse pitch make it appropriate for slotting, profiling, and ramping operations in steel and stainless steel components. It is intended for use with standard toolholders compatible with a 6 mm straight shank. The MC726 series targets versatile material removal across P, M, K, and S material classifications per ISO designation.
Designed for use with standard toolholders accepting a 6 mm straight cylindrical shank. Compatible with primary workpiece materials including steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and superalloys and titanium (ISO material codes P, M, K, S). Secondary workpiece materials include cast iron, hard materials, and stainless steel.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator following the toolholder manufacturer torque and runout specifications. Ensure the shank is clean and fully seated in the toolholder before tightening. Verify spindle direction is set to right-hand rotation before engaging the cut. Do not exceed the tool manufacturer recommended speeds and feeds for the target workpiece material.
