The WALTER-PROTOTYP 5543418 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for high-performance milling in steel and stainless steel applications. With a 0.75 inch cutting diameter, a 2.25 inch length of cut, and a 5 inch overall length, this tool delivers aggressive material removal in demanding production environments. Five spiral flutes with a 45-degree helix angle promote efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting action. A TiAlN coating provides thermal resistance and wear protection, extending tool life in ferrous and stainless workpieces. This end mill is used by machinists and tooling professionals operating CNC machining centers and manual mills where precision and durability are required.
This end mill is rated primarily for steel (ISO material code P) and secondarily for stainless steel (ISO material code M), making it suitable for general-purpose and production milling tasks in job shops, aerospace component machining, and industrial fabrication. The straight-cylindrical shank with a 0.75 inch diameter fits standard ER collets and end mill holders. The long-length configuration with a 2.25 inch reach accommodates deeper pockets and cavity work where standard-length tools cannot reach. Right-hand cut and right-hand flute geometry are standard for conventional CNC spindle rotation.
Designed as an OEM-specification solid carbide end mill in the WALTER-PROTOTYP AH3023418 series, compatible with standard 0.75 inch end mill holders, ER collet chucks, and hydraulic tool holders used on CNC machining centers and manual knee mills.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or toolroom technicians. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is powered down or in a safe lockout state before changing tooling. Seat the straight shank fully into the tool holder and torque collet nuts or set screws to the tool holder manufacturer's specifications. Verify runout with a dial indicator before production cutting - maximum TIR for this tool is 0.02 mm as specified by the manufacturer.
