The WALTER-PROTOTYP 5150510 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill engineered for high-speed cutting applications in steel and non-ferrous metals. The tool features a 0.8 mm cutting diameter with a 0.05 mm corner radius, two right-hand helical flutes at a 30-degree helix angle, and a TiAlN PVD coating that extends tool life in demanding milling operations. With an overall length of 38 mm and a 3 mm straight-cylindrical shank, it is sized for precision work in tight geometries. This series HSC 30 tool is rated for both roughing and finishing passes, making it a versatile option for machinists working on small-feature components.
This end mill is intended for use in CNC machining centers and high-speed milling setups where fine detail and close tolerances are required. Its extended reach of 10 mm and neck diameter matching the cutting diameter make it well suited for deep slot milling, pocket work, and contouring in steel and non-ferrous materials. The center-cutting design allows direct plunge entry. Typical end users include precision machinists, tool-and-die shops, and mold makers working with small-diameter tooling in production or prototype environments.
Designed for use with standard toolholders accepting a 3 mm straight-cylindrical shank. Primary workpiece materials are steel and non-ferrous metals (ISO material codes P and N). Compatible with CNC machining centers and high-speed milling spindles capable of accommodating 0.8 mm cutting diameter tooling.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked before inserting or removing the end mill from the toolholder. Verify runout does not exceed the rated TIR maximum of 0.01 mm before commencing cuts. Use toolholder collets or shrink-fit holders rated for the 3 mm shank diameter to maintain concentricity and prevent tool pullout during operation.
