The WALTER 7795900 is a solid carbide grooving insert designed for precision external and internal grooving operations on superalloy workpieces. It carries the WSM33S manufacturer grade and features the Tiger-tec Silver coating platform with an aluminum-based finish, engineered for cutting stability in demanding applications. The insert has a cutting width of 0.079 inches and a maximum depth of cut of 0.669 inches, with a cutting height of 0.181 inches. The CF6 chip breaker geometry promotes controlled chip formation and evacuation. With two cutting edges per insert, it delivers extended tool life in stable cut conditions. Licensed machinists and CNC tooling technicians are the primary installers of this insert type.
This insert is suited for grooving operations on superalloys and other difficult-to-machine materials, including applications classified under material codes M, P, and S. The Tiger-tec Silver series is designed for stable cutting conditions in production environments where consistent chip control and wear resistance are required. It is typically used in CNC turning centers and grooving tool holders that accept the DX18 insert style. The insert style code is DX18, and the insert size designation is 2E200, following both ANSI and ISO standards.
Designed for use in toolholders accepting the DX18 insert style. Primary workpiece materials are superalloys and materials classified under codes M, P, and S. Insert size code is 2E200 with a material grade rating of C5. Compatible with stable cut conditions within a maximum depth of cut range of 0.300 to 1.000 inches.
Insert seating and clamping should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician following the toolholder manufacturer specifications. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before changing or indexing inserts. Inspect the toolholder pocket and clamping hardware for wear or debris before seating the insert. Do not exceed the rated maximum depth of cut for this insert grade and geometry.
