The WALTER 7021690 is a solid carbide milling insert designed for high-performance material removal in non-ferrous metal applications. Built to the SDHT1204AZN-G88 geometry standard, this insert features a square shape with a 90-degree included angle, a positive 20-degree rake angle, and a 15-degree relief angle. The G88 chip breaker geometry and sharp cutting edge style work together to produce clean, efficient cuts with minimal burring. Four available cutting edges extend tool life and reduce per-edge cost. Licensed machinists and CNC tooling technicians working with aluminum, copper, brass, and similar non-ferrous stock will find this insert well-suited to finish and semi-finish milling operations.
This insert fits the WALTER M4000 cutter series and is intended for single-sided use in screw-held toolholders. It targets non-ferrous metal workpiece materials, designated under material grade N10 and primary workpiece material code N. Typical applications include face milling, shoulder milling, and pocket milling on aluminum alloy components in both production shop and job shop environments. The insert carries both ANSI and ISO designations under the code SDHT1204AZN-G88 WK10, making cross-referencing straightforward for tooling engineers and purchasing teams.
Designed for use with the WALTER M4000 cutter series. Insert conforms to ANSI and ISO standard code SDHT1204AZN-G88 WK10. Intended for screw-held toolholders accepting SDHT 1204 insert size with a 0.5000-inch inscribed circle.
Indexable insert installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician. Power down and lock out the spindle drive before indexing or replacing inserts. Use the appropriate Torx or hex key specified by the cutter body manufacturer when seating the clamping screw - do not overtighten. Inspect the insert pocket for chips or damage before seating a new insert to ensure proper seating and runout.
