The WALTER 6068881 is a solid carbide milling insert in the LNGX series, designed for indexable milling operations in steel and cast iron applications. Carrying the manufacturer grade WKP25S and ANSI/ISO designation LNGX130708R-L55, this double-sided, right-hand insert features a CVD-applied multilayer coating of TiCN/Al2O3/TiCN for wear resistance and thermal stability at the cutting edge. It measures 0.5390 inches in length, 0.4330 inches inscribed circle diameter, and 0.3050 inches thick, with a 1/32-inch (0.0315 inch) corner radius. The negative rake geometry and chamfered plus honed cutting edge style make it well suited for interrupted cuts and high-feed roughing passes.
This insert is intended for use in milling operations on steel and cast iron workpieces, covering material grades P25 and K25. It fits screw-on insert pockets and is compatible with WALTER cutter bodies in the F2010 and F4041 series. The L55 chip breaker geometry supports reliable chip control across a range of depths of cut up to 0.5390 inches. Typical users include CNC machinists and toolroom technicians running face mills, shoulder mills, or high-feed cutters on machining centers in job shop and production environments.
Compatible with WALTER F2010 and F4041 cutter body series. Insert designation LNGX130708R-L55 WKP25S conforms to ANSI and ISO standards. Designed for screw-on insert pockets accepting the LNGX 13 insert size with a 90-degree included angle.
Installation is performed by CNC machinists or toolroom technicians. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before indexing or replacing inserts. Use the correct torx or hex key specified by the cutter body manufacturer when seating the clamping screw - do not overtighten, as this can fracture the carbide substrate. Inspect the insert pocket seating surface and shim for debris or damage before installing a new insert.
