The WALTER 5886134 is a solid carbide milling insert carrying ANSI and ISO designation ADGT1204PER-D56 WKP35S. It is a parallelogram-shaped, single-sided, positive-rake insert designed for face and shoulder milling operations. The insert features a CVD multilayer coating of TiCN / Al2O3 / TiCN under the manufacturer grade WKP35S, optimized for cutting steel and cast iron. With a 15-degree relief angle, a 10-degree rake angle, and a honed cutting edge, it delivers controlled chip formation and extended tool life under moderate to aggressive feed conditions. The D56 chip breaker geometry suits a broad range of depth-of-cut applications up to 0.5350 inches. Installation is via screw clamping. Right-hand cutting configuration.
This insert is intended for use in ferrous machining applications on CNC milling centers, including facing, profiling, and shoulder milling of steel and cast iron workpieces. It carries material grade designations P35 and K35, making it appropriate for both ISO P (steel) and ISO K (cast iron) application groups. The insert is compatible with WALTER cutter series F2010, F4042, and F4238 milling bodies. It is sized to the 1204 insert size code with an inscribed circle of 0.3310 inches and a corner radius of 0.0472 inches (1.20 mm). Machining professionals and CNC tooling specialists working in production or job-shop environments are the primary installers.
Compatible with WALTER milling cutter series F2010, F4042, and F4238. Insert size code 1204. Designed for right-hand screw-clamp toolholders accepting ADGT-series inserts per ANSI and ISO standard geometry.
Installation is performed by qualified CNC tooling technicians or machinists. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before seating or replacing inserts. Use the correct torx or hex key to torque the clamping screw to the toolholder specification - refer to the cutter body documentation for the required value. Inspect the insert pocket and clamping seat for chips or debris before installing a new insert to ensure proper seating and runout.
