The WALTER 5881329 is a solid carbide milling insert carrying the ANSI/ISO designation ADMT120408R-G56 WKP35S. It is a parallelogram-shaped, single-sided insert with a positive rake angle of 20 degrees and a 15-degree relief angle, designed for use in indexable milling cutters on CNC machining centers. The manufacturer grade WKP35S features a CVD-applied multilayer TiCN/Al2O3/TiCN coating that targets wear resistance and thermal stability. With an inscribed circle of 0.3310 inches and a thickness of 0.1875 inches, this insert is held in place by a screw-clamp method and delivers two usable cutting edges per insert.
This insert is intended for milling steel and cast iron workpieces, corresponding to material grade designations P35 and K35. It is suited for medium to semi-finishing operations in both production-floor and job-shop environments where consistent surface finish and edge life on ferrous materials are priorities. The G56 chip breaker geometry and chamfered-and-honed cutting edge style help manage chip flow and reduce edge chipping when cutting at moderate depths. It is a right-hand cut configuration and is compatible with the F2010, F4042, and F4138 cutter series per manufacturer data. Licensed machinists and CNC programmers typically select and install this insert type.
Compatible with the F2010, F4042, and F4138 WALTER cutter series per manufacturer specifications. Insert conforms to ANSI and ISO standards under code ADMT120408R-G56 WKP35S.
Installation is performed by machinists or tooling technicians following standard indexable insert procedures. Always power down and lock out the spindle before indexing or replacing inserts. Use the manufacturer-recommended torx or hex key for the clamping screw to avoid over-torquing the insert pocket. Inspect the pocket seat and shim for damage or debris before seating a new insert, as a contaminated pocket will reduce edge life and dimensional accuracy.
